WELEDA
Co-founded by Dr Rudolf Steiner and Dr Ita Wegman back in 1921, Weleda has transformed from a pharmaceutical laboratory (with its own plant garden) into a world-leading beauty and wellbeing manufacture. Understanding the importance of biodynamic cultivation, the brand dreams up organic skin care that covers all bases – from tackling targeted concerns to protecting the planet through open-pollinated seed diversity.

DISCOVER WELEDA
Since 1921, Weleda has been dreaming up skin care products for the benefit and beauty of both the people and planet. Taking a holistic view on humans, the brand understands that being healthy means that the mind, spirit and body is balanced. With that in mind, it formulates products that contain active ingredients to optimise our overall skin health. We’re talking everything from face, body and baby creams.
WELEDA’S STORY
Weleda’s story began with a vision and was founded by people who longed for a better future. Recognising the strong bond between nature and the human body, spirit and mind, its co-founders Dr Rudolf Steiner and Dr Ita Wegman began producing medicines and skin care products that benefited both the body and environment. How? By utilising natural ingredients and pioneering seed and soil diversity.
WELEDA’S RESPONSIBILITIES
To recognise Weleda’s core commitment to the environment, the brand has been awarded a B Corporation, Demeter Biodynamic and Championing A Cause proof points (along with many others), from our third-party verification partner: Provenance. Devoted to doing better for nature and society over the past 100 years, Weleda is recognised for its underlying B Corp Lab along with its dedication to seed diversity – where all seeds are open-pollinated to safeguard the existence of its natural, raw materials. As part of this, it also supports other initiatives, like Save our Seeds, while being a founding member of the Sunflower Initiative for Bio-Seeds. But that’s not all, the brand is also a member and co-founder of Hortus officinarum – an association that promotes biodynamic cultivation and propagation of medicinal plants. Impressive, we know.
