If you’re living in London, chances are that you’ve passed the Earl of East stores and done a double take: picture a haven of plants, plush pillows and their all-famous home fragrances. Formed around four pillars – ‘Create’, ‘Curate’, ‘Collaborate’ and ‘Community’ – the lifestyle store-cum-studio is beloved for its in-store candle-pouring and workshops. What started in Hackney as a succinct edit of candles has since evolved into a line of home fragrance favourites that spans across bath salts, incense and aromatic mists.
Beyond its effortlessly chic vessel with exquisite typography, the Soy Wax Candle-Elementary is made from an eco-soy blend of high-quality, raw materials from ethical suppliers (co-founder Niko Dafkos assures that “their work does not contribute to deforestation and respects the rights of workers and indigenous people”), so sit back, strike a match and allow yourself to be whisked away to old England…
Suggestive of a long-forgotten, wood-panelled room in a Victorian townhouse that once hosted gatherings of bead-clad women and pipe-smoking gentlemen, this candle unites a decadent blend of leather, earthy tobacco leaves and warm, sweet amber. Rich, seductive, sweet and luxurious, it's safe to say that the Soy Wax Candle-Elementary is a timeless and scent-sational introduction to the range (and a delight for anyone with a bougie obsession), plus, with 35-40 hours of burning time (read: joy), we’re betting you’re bound to form an addiction.
Ignite, inhale, enjoy. Place in a central part of the room for optimum fragrance distribution.
Earl of East candles are made out of 100% eco-soy [non-GMO] wax and essential oils. All materials used are vegan, non-GMO, paraben-free, phthalate free and cruelty free. Glue used is solvent free and vegan.

Burns long and with a decent throw for such a little candle. The scent is my favourite from this brand. Perfect for working early in the morning or late at night.

Average Candle
Not the best of scents - the candle didn't have a strong throw of scent although it did burn evenly. I wouldn't repurchase.

Rather small and smell is basic
But I loved the other candles from this brand. Elementary is nice, but too clean for me. Reminds me of the smell in the clean linen storage of a hotel.

Gorgeous scent
Smalls gorgeous and can even smell it in the room the next morning hours after the candle has been blown out! It gives off quite an almond smell (which I love!) but I’ve taken it down a star purely because I expected something a bit more earthy overall so it is slightly sweeter than expected but so gorgeous regardless.

Will buy for sure
Got this as a free gift when buying other products, and so impressed. Chic packaging, deep heady scent that lasts for ages & a fab present too. Will definitely buy myself once the current one runs out.
